Pilot Ground School
At HFT we understand that learning to fly is more than passing some tests and learning a few fundamental skills. The pilot ground school is 12 weeks long. This stage of your training will help you understand the principles that all pilots will use during their flying career.
HFT teaching is based on each students needs as an individual.

Using a mixture of visual, audio and kinaesthetic learning to give all our students the very best. Each subject has a lecture period and follow up tutorials. Information is presented in a full and comprehensive set of student manuals and work books. These are issued at the commencement of each subject being studied. Data show board projection is used along with other Computer based information technology.

Importantly HFT provide interaction between instructors and students in a classroom learning environment.

Our pilot ground theory course is tailored for those who want a career in helicopter aviation. This all starts with the PPL and CPL theory subjects.

When a student pilot is working towards obtaining a PPL and then CPL, they are required to pass written knowledge tests prior to undertaking a practical flight test.

The material needed to pass theses written examinations will be fully covered in the course.

Helicopter pilot training is an exciting and sometime complex process. Our pilot ground school course will help explain in small steps the various items that make up the knowledge a pilot must have.
